Every year from May until June, millions of sardines travel north to the Eastern Cape waters from the colder southern ocean off the South African coastline. This amazing event is called the Sardine Run. Add to this mix the arrival of predators, game fish, sharks, dolphins, whales and birds, all waiting to feed on this huge fish buffet.

The sardines shoal closely together in an attempt to minimize their chances of being eaten and the following feeding frenzy is amazing to see. A variety of sharks rushing thru the bait balls- Bulls, Duskys, Bronze Whalers, Black Tips,Ragged Tooth and the odd Great White, Cape Fur Seals, Bottlenose and Common dolphins, Sail fish, Bryde's and Humpback whales and Cape Gannets diving from the skies above.
